A piglet with a genetic mutation has appeared in Cambodia, making it look like a hybrid between a pig and an elephant.
Elephant-like piglet born in Cambodia.
This piglet was born in the Pramaoy region of western Cambodia with a long trunk and ears as big as an elephant’s. The little animal was very thin, limped and could not open its eyes. The images of this piglet make viewers both surprised and sympathetic.
The pig has a genetic mutation.
It is still unclear whether this pig is still alive or not, and what is the cause of its deformed appearance.
Previously in 2014, a piglet with a similar appearance was also born in Jilin, China, but only survived 2 hours after birth.
The owner of the pig, a farmer, froze the carcass for preservation and as evidence of its existence. Born at the same time as the mutant pig, there were seven other pigs, all of which were healthy and normal.
A piglet with a similar appearance was also born in China in 2014.
Chinese farmers froze the animal’s carcass to preserve it and serve as evidence of its existence.
In June 2015, a sow in China also gave birth to a piglet with a genetic mutation and a severely deformed appearance. The little pig looks a lot like a tapir – a herbivorous mammal with a pig-like body and a long nose.
