‘The President’ – The President is a 3,200-year-old Sequoia tree in Sequoia National Park, USA. This giant tree is more than 75 meters tall, has a trunk width of nearly 8 meters and a volume of 1,275 cubic meters. It is known as the tallest tree in the world according to some experts.
The tree has many branches and about 2 billion leaves – more than any other tree on Earth.
Even though it is 3,200 years old, the ‘Presidential’ tree is still growing at the same rate as before, without showing any signs of aging.
Recently, a group of dedicated photographers and scientists at the National Geographic Society of the United States decided to photograph this giant wonder, from root to tip, to save for future generations. Something that no one has done before.
To do this, they had to use a large amount of modern equipment to expand the scale of shooting the entire ‘Presidential’ tree.
After 32 days of effort and taking a total of 126 different photos, the team finally succeeded and got the ‘portrait’ of the ‘President’. The photo looks quite simple but breathtaking!
The giant Sequoia tree grows only in Sequoia National Park, California, USA. This tree can grow as tall as a skyscraper and live for thousands of years without showing signs of old age.
