Mother Nature gives people countless wonderful things and also no shortage of strange things. One of them probably has to mention the tree that makes many people surprised because it “bleeds” when cut on the trunk.
It is known that this special tree is called Corymbia opaca (originating from Australia) or also known by people here as the desert blood tree.
At first glance, Corymbia opaca is very similar to many other plants, but it is only when they are “injured” by a cut that they become truly different. Because this plant will appear streaks of dark red liquid that look very scary.
Although on the outside they are no different from other tree varieties, a special thing happens when you cut a line on the tree trunk, causing streaks of dark red liquid to appear.
The “blood” of this desert blood plant is not liquid like water but rather thick and viscous like paste. They flow down in streams and then quickly dry, clinging tightly to the tree trunk.
Not only noted for its “blood” strangeness, Corymbia opaca is also known for its wonderful uses. According to research, Australian aborigines often harvest tree sap (containing a large amount of tannin – a substance commonly used in medicine) to prepare medicine to treat colds as well as some other diseases.
Although it does not cause any harm to humans, seeing this tree sap also makes many people shudder.
