If you think the ferocious T-Rex, the prehistoric lord of the earth, has no opponents, you are sorely mistaken. They can be attacked and become a hearty meal of the giant creature known as the largest “flying meat-eating machine” in Earth’s history.
The giant pterosaur Quetzalcoatlus.
That is the giant pterosaur Quetzalcoatlus, the largest flying creature that ever existed on Earth. They dominated the vast sky 166 million years ago and had almost no natural enemies. Even the largest and most ferocious dinosaurs can become their prey.
Due to the large wingspan, this lizard often has to take off from high cliffs or run on the ground like an airplane.
Quetzalcoatlus is considered the largest flying animal on Earth. It is similar in height to a giraffe (about 5-6 meters) but has a wingspan of up to 10 meters, equivalent to the wingspan of an F-16 fighter. Quetzalcoatlus is considered the final evolutionary result of pterosaurs.
If standing upright, this pterosaur was as tall as an adult giraffe.
Their huge size makes every other creature wary every time they see their shadow on the ground, even the ferocious tyrant dinosaurs are no exception.
Not only hunting on land, the giant pterosaur Quetzalcoatlus also spread its wings and hovered over the Creataceous coasts to catch underwater prey.
This lizard can fly as high as 3,000 to 4,500 meters and dash at speeds of 80 miles per hour.
